Tibetan Monks Rescue Coal Truck

South of Lanzhou in the Gansu & Sichuan provinces, the area is largely populated by Tibetans. So I was out on a Sunday hike around the Kirti Gompa Monastery in Langmusi, when a coal truck came off the road. It took two hours for the monks to unload. It seemed everyone came out to help.

A truly unforgettable experience.

  1. Wonderful cinematography, Andy! The blue truck and the monks’ deep red robes were eye catching. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, huh? I enjoyed this short film very much, and how the monks banded together to make everything work out in the end. Lovely work!

    • Thanks Rose > Really glad you liked it. I got hooked on doing the coloured lotus in the beginning and end LOL. I’ll be doing another one soon when the monks are debating > Its nuts!!! LOL. Thanks for your good vibes mate 🙂

  2. I’ve noticed that many of the monks are young boys. I would think this would be like a game to them in comparison to their more contemplative duties. And the slapping in the other video is much like boys playing around. Just a thought from a once middle school teacher.
